Eagles, Clippers & Wolves Advance in Softball Tournament

Southern Door advanced in the WIAA Division 2 softball regional with a 4-2 win over Oconto Falls on Tuesday in Brussels.  The Eagles scored two runs in the first inning as Hannah Mallien belted an RBI single and scored on a error for a 2-0 lead and then added two more in the third inning as Gabby Atkins and Erin Tadych both singles and scored for a 4-0 advantage.  Lexi Wery pitched three scoreless innings for Southern Door with Mallien pitching the final four innings for the win.  Tadych and Grace LeGrave had 2 hits for the Eagles while Corrina Romandine homered and Brittany Russell hit an RBI triple for the Panthers.  Southern Door will play at Denmark on Wednesday.
