Southern Door will play Campbellsport in the WIAA Division 3 State Softball Tournament at 10am on Friday at Goodman Diamond in Madison.
The Eagles (21-3) are co-champions of the Packerland Conference and have beaten Omro, Valders, Kewaunee and Oconto in the tournament. Lexy Wery (14-2) has pitched back-to-back shutouts in the sectionals while their offense has 60 extra base hits which includes 29 doubles, 21 triples and 10 home runs. Jackie Atkins (.478) Grace LeGrave (.462) Tehya Bertrand (.457) Kylie Neinas (.389) and Kendra Dantoin (.381) are the leading hitters for the Eagles.
The Cougars (16-7) placed second in the East Central Conference behind co-champions Kewaskum and Waupun and have postseason wins over North Fond du Lac, Wautoma, Mayville and Random Lake. Alyssa Muench (14-6) has 205 strikeouts and has hit a team high eight of their 21 home runs. Allysa Klahn, Morgan Fryman and Muench all hit over .400 on the season.
Poynette will play Prescott in the other semi-final with the winners meeting at 1:00pm Saturday for the State Championship.
