Southern Door beat Algoma and Sturgeon Bay defeated Sevastopol in non-conference softball games on Friday.
*The Eagles beat the Wolves 3-1 as Rachel Andres and Megan Hawkey combined to pitch the win. Southern Door took an early lead when Acacia Tupa drove in Cheyenne McFarlin in the first inning with an RBI double and added the deciding runs in the third inning when LaRae Bagnall drove in Courtney Van Hout and Katie Miller. Mickey Thiry tripled for the Eagles. Taylor Schmidt, Andie Vandertie and Tanika Jorgenson had two hits and Jordan Demmin allowed only 5 hits for the Wolves. These two teams will play a conference game at Algoma Monday.
*The Clippers outscored the Pioneers 17-14 on a blustery afternoon in Institute. Hailey Benesh pitched the win and hit a home run while Jackie Herlache had two home runs and Paige Kramer also homered for Sturgeon Bay.
