Dier Verbally Commits to UW-Green Bay

Algoma’s Anna Dier has given a verbal commitment to the UW-Green Bay women’s basketball program.  Dier suffered a season ending knee injury in December, but coach Mark Zastrow says that college recruiters were able to see Dier plenty last summer and he says that playing in the summer is really the best way for a player to showcase their skills…

In 2013, Dier had a breakout game in the State Semi-finals against Cuba City with 18 points and 10 rebounds as the  Wolves won the State Title and then she battled pneumonia during the playoffs in 2014 as Algoma finished runner-up.  Dier has been a 1st Team Packerland Conference selection the past two years.  We asked coach Zastrow where Dier is likely to play in college….

Zastrow said that the Phoenix offer came from coach Kevin Borseth with the idea of Dier redshirting her first year at Green Bay.  In regards to her rehabilitation, Zastrow says that Dier is ahead of schedule…

Before moving on to college, Dier is expected to help Algoma contend for their 10th straight Packerland Conference championship.
