DeJardine Homer Gives Egg Harbor Big DCL Win

Egg Harbor remains in first place in the Door County League as they beat Sister Bay in extra innings Sunday.  Kolberg slipped past Washington Island, Maplewood beat Institute and West Jacksonport crushed Baileys Harbor.  Here are the details:

Egg Harbor beat Sister Bay, 4-1.  Eric DeJardine’s home run in the top of the 14th snapped a 1-1 tie and helped Egg Harbor (8-1) beat Sister Bay (6-2).  Sister Bay scored their lone run in the fourth and Egg Harbor tied the game in the eighth.  Corey Fuller and Riley Spetz each had three hits to lead Egg Harbor while DeJardine and Joe Sawyer added two.  Septz (1-0) pitched eight innings of relief for the win.  Ryan Demmin and Tucker Emerson each had two hits for Sister Bay.  Sam Forkert (3-1) took the loss in relief.

On AM 910 WDOR and wdor.com, Kolberg beat Washington Island, 2-1.  Kolberg (6-2) scored both of their runs in the top of the sixth to rally for the win.  Riley Cordier (3-2) pitched seven innings for the win and David Van Dreese finished for his second save.  Austin Dart had two hits to lead Kolberg and Eric Lardinois had an RBI double and scored the go ahead run.  Caleb Cornell and Ben Geiger each had two hits for Washington Island (2-6), who had two runner on in the ninth but could not score.  Wil Henriksen (1-3) started and took the loss.

Maplewood beat Institute, 6-2.  Maplewood (3-6) led 5-2 before scoring their final run in the eighth.  Kordell Draves had two hits and drove in a pair of runs for the Mets.  Kyle Ploor and Colin Schubert each had two hits and Chad LaLuzerne reached base four times.  LaLuzerne (2-0) pitched the first six innings for the win.  Kyle Volkmann (1-5) took the loss for Institute (2-5), who had just four hits.

West Jacksonport beat Baileys Harbor, 16-1.  Griffen Cole, Jared Lindemann and Tanner Biwer all had three hits for West Jacksonport (6-3).  Sawyer Johnson added two and Jackson Lindemann collected his first DCL hit.  Drew Tanck (5-2) pitched the first five innings for the win.  Derek Niedzwiecki had three hits for Baileys Harbor (0-8).  Lucas Stephenson (0-2) took the loss.  Baileys Harbor manager Shannon Wautier became the first ever female to play in a Door County League game as her team was short players.
