The Door County League all stars defeated the Shoreland League all stars 5-4 on Thursday night at the Sevastopol Town Park in Institute. The DCL led most of the game and won it in the 9th inning as Eric Bley scored from first on a fielders choice groundout and a throwing error.
Both teams scored in the first inning, the DCL then scored 1 in the 2nd, and 2 in the 3rd to take a 4-1 lead. The game remained tied until the 8th inning when the Shoreland added 2 runs, then tied the game in the top of the 9th at 4.
Leading the DCL was David Van Dreese with 2 hits including an RBI double. Griffin Cole was the winning pitcher, Luke Mondich took the loss. Mitch Ciske had an RBI double, and Jody Harrison had a 2 RBI double in the 8th inning for the Shorelanders.
