DC Outdoors/ Peninsula State Park

This week on Door County Outdoors, we were joined by Peninsula State Park Property Superintendent Erin Brown.  She says that the park, at just under 3,800 acres, is one of the largest and most popular parks in Wisconsin…[audio:http://wdor.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/erin3.mp3|titles=Erin Brown]

And while the park is well known for features like the Eagle Bluff Lighthouse, Peninsula Golf Course and American Folklore Theatre- those points of interest are not accessible year round.  However, Brown says that there are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy during the winter at the park….

You’ll need a trail pass to ski the trails and also a State Park Admission sticker to enter the Park.  Brown says that the Park is part of the Door County Snowmobile trail system and that Eagle Tower, the 76-foot observation tower is also open year round.  Click Door County Fish Report to hear our full conversation. This Saturday at 8:30 we’ll be talking with DNR fisheries biologist Scott Hansen on whitefish management on Door County Outdoors.
