Daoust Sparks SD, Huskies Next

It was announced Friday afternoon that Southern Door’s Kyle Daoust had been voted as the Packerland Conference player of the year.  On Friday Night, he scored 26 points to lead the Eagles (19-4) over Sturgeon Bay for the third time this season, 53-38, in a WIAA Division 3 regional semi-final game in Brussels.  Southern Door led 23-12 at the half only to see the Clippers (14-10) storm out of the locker room on a 13-2 run to start the half as a Michael Rose three pointer with 13:13 to play tied the game at 25-25.  That’s when Daoust went to work, scoring 21 of Southern Door’s 31 points in the half and converting on 15 of 18 free throw attempts for the game.  Derik LeCaptain added 11 points for Southern Door while Carson Talbert scored 13 to lead Sturgeon Bay.  New Holstein beat Oostburg, 72-65, on Friday Night- sending Southern Door to New Holstein for the regional championship game with the Huskies (18-5).  Our coverage begins at 6:45 with the Jorns Chevrolet of Kewaunee pregame show on 93.9FM / wdor.com
