Curtin Sets Michigan Tech Record

Sturgeon Bay’s Matt Curtin had another big game for the Michigan Tech football team Saturday.  The senior caught ten passes for 178 yards and three touchdowns in a 56-49 loss to Ferris State.  Curtin has caught twelve touchdown passes this season, which is a new Michigan Tech single season record.

Ripon quarterback Tom Sawyer ran for 96 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-20 win over Beloit College.  The junior had scoring run of 14, 1 and 16 yards and now has 10 rushing touchdowns on the season.  Sawyer completed five of seven passes for 113 yards and two scores.

Quarterback Michael Blizel and the University of Wisconsin-Stout fell at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Saturday, 33-18.  The senior from Southern Door completed 18 of 34 passes for 264 yards and a touchdown.  Blizel also had 19 carries for 83 yards.

Algoma’s Jesse Kroll caught his first collegiate pass for Central Michigan Saturday.  Kroll, a redshirt freshman, hauled in a 15-yard reception in the fourth quarter of Central Michigan’s 41-30 loss to Ball State.
