The Sturgeon Bay boys track and field team won the Oconto Fall Invitational for the first time since 1987 on Thursday. DJ Lenius won the 110 and 300 hurdles while Evan Smith was second in the 400 and 800. Brady Wodack, Luke Brinkman, Hayden Shefchik and Nathaniel Greenlaw won both the 400 and 800 relay events. Wodack (100) and Lenius (high jump) added second place finishes. Max Schoening and Aiden Wallace of Algoma finished first and second in the shot put while Kewaunee’s Spencer Kirsteatter won two events (1600/3200) and Max Hanrahan won the 800. The Sturgeon Bay boys totaled 148 points for the win.
The Algoma girls won the Invite with 142.50 points. Katelyn Williams won three individual events (100/shot put/discus) and teamed with Courtney Guilette, Khloe Williams and Morgan Davister to win the 400 relay. Sturgeon Bay’s Lauren Alger won the 100 hurdles while Kewaunee’s Elena Lewis (800) Olivia Joski (3200) and Kaaryn Smidel (300 Hurdles) all won events on Thursday.
