Clippers Win Fourth Straight

Solid pitching, solid hitting and solid defense has been the formula of late for the Sturgeon Bay baseball team and that was the case Monday as they beat Sevastopol at Town Park, 5-1.  Jeffrey Alberts allowed a run on four hits in seven innings.  He had nine strike outs and did not walk a batter.  The Clippers scored the first run of the game on back-to-back, two out doubles by Alberts and Ryan Jackson in the third.  Trent Ehlers added an RBI single in the fourth and then Sturgeon Bay added two in the fifth on a run scoring single by Anthony Moore and a Jaeger Brusky sacrifice fly.  Moore doubled in the seventh and would score on a wild pitch.  Moore had three hits while Jackson, Alberts and Tanner DeGrave all added two.  Sevastopol scored their lone run in the sixth when Jared Pflieger doubled and scored on Lucas Stenzel’s single.
