Sturgeon Bay baseball team opened the Packerland Conference schedule with a 7-3 win over Algoma at Perry Field on Thursday. The Clippers, the two time defending league champions, scored 4 runs in the first inning as Riley Schartner hit a 3-run home run and Lucas Stephenson added a solo shot. Schartner finished with 3 hits and 4 RBI’s and Stephenson and Riley Cordier had 2 hits each. Cordier, who pitched the first five innings for the win, allowed no runs on 3 hits with 9 strikeouts. Hunter Prokash and Cody Haucke doubled for the Wolves.
