Clippers Win at Sevastopol

The Sturgeon Bay boys basketball team beat Sevastopol, 79-69, in Institute on Friday Night. The Clippers (3-1, 4-2) opened a 31-11 lead in the first half but the Pioneers closed the half on a 19-6 run to make it 37-30 at the break. Sevastopol was hot from the outside, making 13 three pointers in the game and took a 53-50 lead with less than 11:00 minutes to play. But after switching to a zone defense late in the second half, Sturgeon Bay was able to slow down the Pioneers (0-4, 1-5) enough to escape with the win. Gunner Tebon finished with a career high 31 points while Jake Schneider added 21 and Anthony Jennerjohn finished with 15. Robby Pollman led Sevastopol with 21 points while Josh Pfleiger scored 17 and Brent Haberli added 16.
