Clippers Struggle at Wrightstown / Wolves Still Unbeaten

The Sturgeon Bay boys and girls basketball teams lost their first game of the season on Saturday at Wrightstown.  The Tigers won the girls game 48-20 as Kayla Chosa had 15 points and Wrenn Tanck added 13.  Natalie Rose led the Clippers (1-1) with 6 points.  In the boys game, Wrightstown pulled away from a 17-17 tie to build a double digit first half lead on the way to a 70-47 win.  Cole Van Schyndel scored a game high 29 points while the Clippers (2-1) were led  by Nathan Abrahamson (15) and Tre Baumgarnder (13).  It was the season opener for both Wrightstown teams.

Algoma beat Howards Grove 64-53 on Saturday.  The Wolves recovered from a 5 point halftime deficit by outscoring Howards Grove 34-19 in the second half.  Sam Koss led Algoma with 19 points.

Algoma will play at Sturgeon Bay on Friday.
