The Sturgeon Bay baseball team had to get creative to play their season opener on Monday. The Clippers were scheduled to play at Marinette, but the game was moved to NEW Lutheran High School in Green Bay and started at 10AM. The Clippers scored three runs in the opening inning and pulled away from a 4-3 game after three innings with a five run 4th and went on to beat the Marines, 16-9. Andrew Carbajal had 3 hits, 2 RBI’s and scored 5 runs, while Jake Schneider and Trent Ehlers had 3 hits and 4 RBI’s. Max Bordeau (2 RBI) and Abram Abeyta (RBI) added 2 hits each for Sturgeon Bay. Max Bordeau, Anthony Jennerjohn and Chris Lodl combined to pitch the win.
