Sturgeon Bay beat Southern Door 3-1 in a WIAA Division 2 Regional Semi-Final at Memorial Field on Tuesday. The Eagles scored in the top of the 3rd on an RBI bases loaded walk to Trevor Marin only to see the Clippers tie the game in the bottom of the inning when Joseph Omilinsky singled home Chase Mickey. Sturgeon Bay took the lead for good on Riley Schartner’s lead off home run in the 4th and added another on a David Van Dreese double that scored Lucas Stephenson. Chase Mickey started for Sturgeon Bay with Van Dreese pitching four hitless innings for the win. The two combined to strikeout 11 and walk 10 in the game. The Eagles (9-9) had only two hits, Cam Schroeder and Austin Rohe singled, and left 11 runners on base. Sturgeon Bay will play the winner of Denmark at Luxemburg-Casco. The Vikings and Spartans were postponed on Tuesday.
