Clippers Come Up Short

Peshtigo put together a five run, 6th inning rally to beat Sturgeon Bay, 5-4, in a Packerland Conference softball game at PBI Field on Monday. The Clippers took an early lead on an RBI double from Koko Hartzell in the second inning and added another in the fourth on a throwing error. But the Bulldogs (3-1) scored five runs in the 6th on two hits and six walks. The Clippers (0-5) scored single runs in the 6th and 7th but left the potential tying run on base. Koko Hartzell finished with 3 hits while Melissa Moxon (RBI double) and Haley Riechers added two hits each and Gracee Abeyta doubled. Grace Wickman had two hits and Grace Meyers pitched all seven innings for the win.
