The Sturgeon Bay baseball team clinched the Packerland Conference Championship with an 8-5 win over Gibraltar at Memorial Field on Thursday. The Clippers (11-0) took the lead for good when they scored 5 runs in the 5th inning. Joseph Omilinsky pitched 5 innings for the win plus went 3X3 with 3 RBI’s while Joey Feurst added 2 hits. Sturgeon Bay’s Riley Schartner tied the game with a 2 out single in the pivotal 5th inning and scored the lead run on a wild pitch. The Vikings (6-5) were led by Nick Kita, Matt Hecht and Will Gonzalez with 2 hits each.

Sturgeon Bay beat Gibraltar 15-11 in Fish Creek. Marielle Abeyta gets the win in relief for the Clippers while Jackie Herlache and Alyse Bosman had 3 hits while Cassie Van Gheem added 2 hits. Sturgeon Bay will host Luxemburg-Casco on Friday.

Sturgeon Bay won a thrilling overtime game against Wrightstown 2-1 on Thursday. Caimyn Lutze scored the first goal in the 26th minute on a penalty kick and scored the game winner in the 84th minute with the assist to Katie Glasheen. The Clippers improve to (7-3) in conference.
