Clippers Beat Oconto

The Sturgeon Bay baseball team beat Oconto 6-4 at Memorial Field on Thursday.  The Clippers scored 3 runs in the first inning as Riley Schartner had an RBI double followed by a run scoring base hit from Keith Lehmann.  Sturgeon Bay added to their lead in the fourth inning on a Joseph Omilinsky RBI triple and Christian Foss had a 2-run double in the fifth as the Clippers opened a 6-1 lead.  The Blue Devils would challenge with a 3-run 6th inning that included a 2-run single from Grant Frazer.  Riley Cordier (8K) worked into the 6th inning for the win while David Van Dreese picked up the save with a scoreless relief outing.  Keith Lehmann paced the Clippers attack with 3 hits while Riley Schartner and Joseph Omilinsky had 2 each.  Teague Camps doubled and Ricky Matitais was on base three times for the Blue Devils.
