Clippers and Spartans Shutout at State

The Sturgeon Bay and Luxemburg-Casco soccer teams lost their semi-final matches at the WIAA Soccer Championships at Uihlein Park on Thursday.

The Clippers played without injured leading scorer Jaden Stevenson and lost to The Prairie School 6-0.  The Hawks led 5-0 at the half and never looked back.  Everett Eaton had 2 goals for the Hawks while the Clippers had only 4 shots on goal.  Sturgeon Bay ends their season with a (22-4-1) record. The Prairie School will play Saint Thomas More in the D4 title game after the Cavaliers beat Barron 3-0.

The Spartans lost to Mount Horeb 1-0 in a Division 3 semi-final.  Eric Crum scored an unassisted goal from 25 yards out in the 49th minute for the Vikings.  L-C had just 3 shots on goal.  The Spartans end their season with a (19-5-2) record.  Mount Horeb will play Delavan-Darien in the D3 title match after the Comets beat Rice Lake 6-2.

Volleyball
Luxemburg-Casco beat Notre Dame 15-25, 25-11, 25-19, 25-18 in a Division 2 Sectional Semi-final at Oconto Falls.  The #8 ranked Spartans will play #5 Waupun in Waupaca on Saturday Night with the winner heading to the State Tournament in Green Bay.
