Chiefs Win Twice

Northern Door picked up a pair of wins over Mishicot at the Sevastopol Town Park on Tuesday.  First, the two teams resumed a suspended game tied 9-9 in the top of the 8th inning.  Jimmy MacInerney doubled to start the winning rally and after two walks loaded the bases, Brandon Emery-Janzen hit a two run single and John Kordon followed with an RBI single for the final margin.  Kordon pitched the bottom of the 8th inning for the win.  In game 2, Kordon and Emery-Janzen combined to pitch the win as the Chiefs earned a 7-4 decision.  Casey Wedig had three hits, Zach Christiansen had two hits and MacInerney doubled.  Northern Door will play at Little Chute tonight and will host Ahnapee tomorrow night.  The Chiefs annual fish fry fundraiser begins at 4:30 Thursday at the Sevastopol Town Park in Institute.

Senior Babe Ruth
Door County held off the Sheriffs Team, 4-3, in Green Bay.  Jared Lindemann pitched the first six innings for the win with Riley Cordier pitching the 7th for the save.  The Bays rallied from a 2-0 deficit for the win.  Santana Pinkert had an RBI single and Toby Ellison doubled for Door County.  The game ended as the Sheriffs Team had a runner thrown out at home attempting to score on a wild pitch.  The Bays (8-2) first game in the Senior Babe Ruth State Tournament is 3:30 Saturday in Fond du lac.
