The Northern Door Legion baseball team opened their season with a 3-2 win over Gibraltar at Billerbeck Field in Fish Creek on Tuesday. The Chiefs, back from a one year hiatus, scored two runs in the opening inning on RBI singles from Jackson Lindemann and Brent Haberli. Gibraltar scored their first run of the game on a Spencer Krause RBI single in the second inning and tied the game when Trevor Reinhardt scored on an error in the third inning. Tied 2-2 in the seventh, Zach Christianson led off the inning with a single and scored the winning run on a two out RBI double by Jackson Lindemann. The Chiefs were led by Jackson Lindemann’s 3 hits while Christianson and Jonas Lindemann had two hits each. Robbie Pollman picked up the win by pitching two scoreless innings with Jackson Lindemann earning the save with a scoreless seventh inning. Luke Steebs, Trevor Reinhardt and Andras Szakala added singles for Gibraltar. The Vikings will play Ahnapee at Memorial Field in Sturgeon Bay on Thursday night at 7:30 (WDOR)
