Northern Door lost to Waupun 18-4 to open the American Legion “A” State Baseball Tournament in Bruce. The game was delayed for an hour & a half due to rain & lightning, & after the delay Northern Door pulled within 1 run at 5-4 in the top of the 4th inning. Waupun came right back & scored 13 runs in the bottom of the 4th inning to put the game away. Cody Giesseman took the loss for the Chiefs, he struck out 4 in three & a third innings, Cawley Hubner relieved him & Tyler Hanussa finished the game. Tanner Biwer & Zack Defere each had two hits for Northern Door. The Chiefs play at 12:30 on Thursday against the loser of the Bruce vs Wisconsin Dells game.
