The Northern Door and Sturgeon Bay Legion baseball teams go into Championship Sunday undefeated in their respective regional tournaments.
At Institute, Northern Door beat Wrightstown 15-1. Tanner Biwer went all 5 innings for the win. Nick Kita had 4 hits and 3 RBI’s while Zach DeFere (home run), Griffin Cole, Cody Giesseman and Alan Karas all had 2 hits. The Chiefs will play either Wrightstown or Omro at 2:00 on Sunday.
At Luxemburg, Sturgeon Bay beat Pulaski 3-2. Riley Cordier went the distance for the Bays. Pulaski scored 2 runs in the 4th inning but Sturgeon Bay rallied for 3 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning for the win. David Van Dreese and Jason Lindemann had RBI singles that scored Riley Schartner and Riley Cordier. The Bays took the lead when Van Dreese scored on a wild pitch. Sturgeon Bay will play either Kewaunee County or Pulaski at 5:30 on Sunday.
