Big First Inning Does In Clippers

Denmark scored six runs in the first inning and went on to beat Sturgeon Bay, 8-3, in a WIAA Division 2 regional opener at Denmark on Thursday.  The Vikings scored six runs on five hits and four walks as Jesse Krueger hit a two run double and Cole Paplham an RBI single in the first inning explosion.  Derrick Umentum and Jack Satori had RBI singles in the third inning to open an 8-0 lead.  The Clippers scored their first run in the fourth inning as Austin Lardinois scored on an RBI groundout by Jake Moeller while Mitchell Jackson (2 hits) drove in Max Bordeau and Mike Rose with a two run double in the 7th inning.  Denmark will play at Luxemburg-Casco on Tuesday.
