The Sturgeon Bay Legion Team swept a doubleheader at Freedom while Northern Door won games at Wrightstown and Denmark on Saturday.
At Freedom, Sturgeon Bay won the opener 12-3. Mitchel Neubauer pitched six innings for the win and added a 2 run home run. Casey Giesseman also homered for the Bays and David Van Dreese added 2 hits. Sturgeon Bay won the second game 11-7 with Van Dreese firing 2 2/3 scoreless innings of relief. Riley Cordier and Riley Schartner had 2 hits each and Giesseman doubled. Sturgeon Bay (7-3) will play at Green Bay Southwest on Tuesday night.
Northern Door beat Wrightstown 10-2 on Saturday. Tanner Biwer struck out 14 in a complete game 4 hitter. Will Gonzalez hit a home run, Nick Kita had 2 hits and Gonzalez and Biwer drove in 3 runs each. At Denmark, Alan Karas fired a 4 hitter for the Chiefs. Griffin Cole had 3 hits, Cody Giesseman added 2 hits and Matt Hecht had 2 RBI’s. The Chiefs (3-3) will host Freedom in a Thursday night doubleheader at Institute.
