Bays For Days

The Sturgeon Bay Legion team won a pair of games on Tuesday to advance to the Class AA State Championship game in Baraboo.

Game 1
The Bays beat Menasha 2-0 as Riley Cordier fired a 5 hit shutout.  Sturgeon Bay scored in the bottom of the 6th inning as Keith Lehmann pounded a two run double that scored Jason Lindemann and David Van Dreese.  Van Dreese had 2 hits, while Austin Rohe, Austin Lardinois and Lindemann all singled.  The two teams combined for 5 double plays.

Game 2
Sturgeon Bay beat Onalaska 10-1 as Austin Rohe threw a 5-hitter.  The Bays scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning as Van Dreese had an RBI ground out and Lehmann added a two run infield single.  Then Sturgeon Bay exploded for 6 runs in the 3rd inning to open a 9-1 lead.  Austin Rohe had 2 hits in the inning, Mike Larsen added an RBI double and Van Dreese an RBI single.  Lehmann finished with 3 RBI’s while Rohe, Van Dreese and Riley Cordier all had 2 hits.
