Balanced Clippers Beat Algoma

Sturgeon Bay improved to (2-0) in the Packerland Conference with a 58-46 over Algoma on Friday Night.  The Clippers held the Wolves to five first half field goals in building a 27-16 halftime lead.  The Sturgeon Bay lead stretched to 36-18 but Algoma’s Austen Dart hit a pair of three pointers as the visitors scored the final seven points of the third quarter and closed to within 42-31.  Sturgeon Bay’s Ryan Jackson scored five quick points to open the fourth quarter but Andrew Gorz (7 points in the quarter, 14 for the game) help keep Algoma in the game before an Austin Lardinois layup with just over a minute to play helped the Clippers put the game away.  Cooper Nellis and Levi Haight scored 10 each for Sturgeon Bay while Austin Lardinois and Matt Van Bramer added 9 points each.
