Badgers Will Wrap Up Regular Season

The Wisconsin football team will close the regular season by playing at Penn State Saturday.  The Badgers (4-3 Big Ten / 7-4 overall) trail the Nittany Lions (5-2 / 7-4) in the Leaders Division, but due to the fact that Penn State and Ohio State are both ineligible for postseason play, Wisconsin has already claimed a spot in the Big Ten Championship Game.  Since that is the case, Wisconsin really has nothing to play for and some believe that they should rest some of their starters.  According to head coach Bret Bielema that will not be the case…

Wisconsin is coming off a 21-14 overtime loss to Ohio State.  It was another close “miss” for the Badgers, as their four losses this season have come by a total of 16 points.  Saturday’s game is the last in what has been a sometimes difficult regular-season for Coach Bielema’s team…

Due to the fact that they can not play in the postseason, Saturday’s game will be the final one for Penn State.  Wisconsin and Coach Bielema expects the Nittany Lions and the crowd at Beaver Stadium to be fired up…

Saturday’s game featuring Wisconsin at Penn State can be heard on 93.9 FM WDOR.  Coverage begins at 12:30 PM with kickoff at 2:30 PM.

Notes:
Neither team is ranked in the national polls this week.  Wisconsin received votes in both.

Wisconsin leads the all-time series with Penn State, 9-6.  At State College the Badgers are 3-3.

Dating back to 2002, the two teams have split their last eight meetings.

Wisconsin has lost their last two games at Beaver Stadium.  Bret Bielema is 0-1 against Penn State at Happy Valley.

Badgers senior running back Montee Ball needs one touchdown to break the NCAA record of 78.  Ball has enjoyed this season because he has had to overcome some adversity…
