Area Bowlers Off To State

Seven high school bowlers from Door County will be in the Wausau area Friday night competing at the Bowling Centers Association of Wisconsin (BCAW) high school bowling club state tournament.  The Sevastopol Pioneers (Joey Plaszkiewicz, Nick Cater, Danny Weber, Jared Meyer, Trevin Joly) beat Southern Door in a sectional meet to advance to team state while Southern Door’s Holly and Daniel Minahan qualified for the girls and boys singles state tournament because of their individual performances this season. The state tournament will officially wrap up the first season of high school bowling in Door County. According to Pfannenstiel, the bowlers heading to state have received plenty of support from the community…

The BCAW high school state tournament is being held at Dale’s Weston Lanes in Schofield and is a three-day event, with bowling on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
