Algoma’s Jacob Wahlers finished second to help the Algoma boys finish in third place at the Chief Kahquados Invitational hosted by Gibraltar on Thursday. Wahlers finished two seconds behind race winner Travis Rieter of Freedom. Caleb House of Gibraltar finished in 5th place and Michael Bertrand of Southern Door finished 12th. Reedsville was the boys team champions.
Maggie Grota of Southern Door was the top area finisher with her 7th place finish while Brianne Barta of Kewaunee and Gracie Englebert of Southern Door finished 9th and 10th respectively. Hannah Lamack (12th) of Kewaunee, Allison Alberts (13th) of Sturgeon Bay and Kayla Scharrig (14th) of Gibraltar had top 15 finishes. Jaci Hinz of Freedom was the individual winner and the Irish easily cruised to the team title with four of the top five finishers.
