Door County split their two games on Thursday at the Ohio Valley Regional in South Lexington, Kentucky. Door County opened with a 7-3 win over Russiaville, Indiana. Robby Pollman went the first 5 innings for the win with Alex Laughlin pitching the 6th inning. Laughlin led the offense with a double while Brandon Stillman added an RBI single. Pollman and Luke Steebs also singled for Door County. Pollman was voted player of the game.
Door County lost to South Lexington, Kentucky 4-0 on Thursday night. Laughlin pitched the first 5 innings with Stillman working the 6th. Door County was held without a hit. Coach Rob Pollman reported that yesterday’s game was the first in the last 20 that the powerful South Lexington team has played more than 4 innings. Laughlin was voted player of the game.
Door County will play Oboro/Daviess County, Kentucky at 2:30 on Friday afternoon. Teams will then be seeded into a single elimination bracket that will begin on Saturday.
