The wait is just about over for Wal-Mart customers in Sturgeon Bay. The new 120,000 square foot store opens Wednesday morning. The new facility at 1536 Egg Harbor Road features a full line of groceries & a wide assortment of new products & services. The store plans to employ about 200 associates, including 80 new positions. As part of Wal-Mart’s commitment to the communities it operates in, $6,000 in grants will be presented during the grand opening celebration. The beneficiaries include the Door County YMCA, the Boys & Girls Club, the Door County Economic Development Corporation, the Door County Maritime Museum, Ministry Door County Medical Center Foundation, the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center & the Door County Senior Squadron, Civil Air Patrol. Community & business leaders will join Wal-Mart at 7:30AM Wednesday for the ribbon cutting ceremony. The colors will be presented by a contingent from the US Coast Guard station.
