Van Hits Building Near Sturgeon Bay DMV

There was a 1-vehicle crash into a building on the east side of Sturgeon Bay Thursday afternoon. Shortly after 1:00 pm, an 18 year-old Sturgeon Bay woman was attempting to park her Dodge Grand Caravan near the back end of the Phill-Mart building on Egg Harbor Road when she says she hit the gas pedal instead of the brake. This propelled her vehicle into the back end of that building near the “Ranly Maritime Gallery”, just 2 doors south of the DMV . There was moderate damage to both the vehicle and the building. Neither the driver nor her 59 year-old female passenger suffered any injury. The building owner was notified of the damage, and the vehicle sustained functional damage and was towed. There were no citations given.
