It didn’t take long for the number crunching for the 2012 United Way campaign in Door County to be completed. The final tally indicates that $436,051.90 was raised or 90.8% of the $480,000 goal set for the annual fundraising campaign. The funding will be used by the United Way’s strategic partners in 2013 to meet goals in the areas of basic needs, community wellness, health, & alcohol & drug prevention. Liz Junion, Volunteer President of the United Way of Door County, thanked those who worked long hours to raise needed funds that will help thousands of people in Door County. Junion said, while many needs will be met in 2013, there will be hundreds of others who will need assistance. She asked area residents who can to take time to give, advocate or volunteer in Door County.
