Forty one Door County residents were awarded certificates and silver pins signifying five years as a Certified Tourism Ambassador at a special ceremony held Wednesday evening at the Landmark Resort near Egg Harbor. Joe Jarosh, who was recently named the National Certified Tourism Ambassador of the year, also picked up an award marking his special status in the program. With the title, National Tourism Ambassador of the year, comes round trip air fare to any destination in the United States, compliments of American Airlines. Sue and Joe Jarosh are expected to use the flight opportunity when they head to Orlando, Florida next year. The Door County Certified Tourism Ambassador program, with more than 600 graduates, was started in 2009 at the urging of Jack Moneypenny, Door County Visitor Bureau President and Chief Executive Officer.
