Thefts from Habitat ReStore

The ReStore in Sturgeon Bay offers recycled items at reasonable prices, but they are not free and patrons are asked to shop during regular hours of operation. Someone apparently didn’t get that message. Last Wednesday, city police officers were dispatched to the store operated by Habitat for Humanity of Door County on 14th Avenue after three lawn mowers were discovered missing. The theft comes on the heels of a ripoff of a chaise chair from outside the building as well. The chair was part of a larger display of items that was stolen earlier. Anyone with information that could be helpful is asked to contact the Sturgeon Bay Police Department at 746-2450A tip form is located on the department’s web site at or click on Submit a Tip on the department’s facebook page.
