A 41 year old Texas man, caught up in a multi-jurisdictional sting related to child enticement & the use of a computer in an attempted sex crime, was in Door County Circuit Court Friday. Steffen Krauss of Colony, Texas remains in the Door County Jail on $50,000 bond. He is expected to be back in court Monday morning. the task force made up of investigators from Brown, Door & Kewaunee Counties, with help from state & federal agents, set up computers at the Door County Justice Center waiting for responses to an internet ad on Craigslist. The ad indicated that an underage teenage girl was willing to trade sex for money. Krauss allegedly responded &, 12 hours later, was in Door County hoping to meet the young girl. He was met by investigators instead. Officers were shocked by the number of responses they received in the sting. Three men were arrested in Brown County & another in Kewaunee County. The investigation is continuing.
