If you’re looking for a good outdoor workout, you’ll soon find it at Sunset Park in Sturgeon Bay. On Tuesday, the city parks & recreation department will be installing new outdoor exercise equipment by the half-mile walking/running track. The project was made possible through partial funding from Ministry Door County Medical Center & the Raibrook Foundation. The new equipment will provide four work stations each offering 24 exercises that will give users a total body workout that can be done at their own pace. The idea is to allow enough options for a complete three day a week workout program. Each station comes with instruction signs that feature three different skill levels from beginner to advanced. The new equipment is geared to promoting the four key types of fitness, cardiovascular, muscular, flexibility & body composition. In addition, the Door County YMCA has agreed to offer a free class utilizing the equipment. You will not need to be a YMCA member to participate.
