Sturgeon Bay West Side Development

Picture a two story building holding a Door County four seasons market on the West side of Sturgeon Bay. How about a multi story hotel near the market? Leave the old granary on the Door County Cooperative property as a tribute to the past & come up with housing dedicated to young professionals. Those are some of the possibilities for property on the city’s West side waterfront contained in a report compiled by the consulting firm of Vandwalle & Associates. Members of the Sturgeon Bay waterfront redevelopment authority are mulling over the plan & will meet on Monday(August 22) to provide feedback for the consultants to incorporate in the final product. The area being looked at essentially encompasses four segments including the former Applebee’s Restaurant, the Co-op parcel & property across the street. The creation of a plan doesn’t necessarily mean that the project will move forward, but it could provide the framework for future development on Sturgeon Bay’s West side.
