Sturgeon Bay Trying to Solve Goose Problem

Sturgeon Bay’s goose problem is like a relative who came to visit, but just won’t leave. The birds are becoming a nuisance that will only get worse if something isn’t done. A meeting at city hall Wednesday evening featuring city officials, residents and representatives of the US Department of Agriculture focused on the problems caused by the large birds in city parks and other areas of Sturgeon Bay. Bob Bordeau, Municipal Services Superintendent, talks about some options that were laid on the table during the session…

Bordeau says the bird numbers are significant enough that action may have to be taken to cut down the local population. How to do that will be studied in the future…

Bordeau has been charged with determining how best to deal with the goose problem.
