At the most recent meeting of the Sturgeon Bay Common Council, the purchase of a portion of property on Alabama Street, near the end of 4th & 5th Avenue, was approved. The city will purchase just under a half acre, for $18,000, and will use the property for a storm water retention pond. Sturgeon Bay Mayor David Ward says storm water is an issue in some areas of the city…
This retention pond should help to alleviate issues that residents in that area of the city are having with stormwater, but ward says it will also help reduce run off into the bay…
Mayor Ward says we will likely see the city add more of these retention ponds where it can to address areas of the city that do not have storm sewers.
