Sturgeon Bay Street Work Update

Sturgeon Bay City Engineer Tony Depies has provided another update on work being done in the city’s downtown area. Depies says underground work on both the alley and the Nebraska Street storm sewer project has been completed. The next step in the process is to get sub-contractors coordinated in order to complete the installation of concrete and asphalt paving.

Depies says, ideally, concrete work should be completed first, then the paving done. He notes that concrete work is scheduled for October 8th with paving set for later in the week. Depies also points out that weather could easily delay the concrete job one day, moving the paving project to the following Monday. He says the project was thrown off schedule by the problems encountered and, once the preferred schedule changed, the downtown work was also affected by issues on other projects in the area.

Depies expressed appreciation for the patience seen during the construction period and says every effort is being made to wrap things up as soon as possible.
