Sturgeon Bay Parking Ban Goes into Effect Soon

Sturgeon Bay residents & visitors are reminded that the city’s overnight parking ban goes into effect early Saturday morning. The city ordinance says that vehicles may not be on the street between the hours of 2AM & 6AM from December to April unless a parking permit has been obtained from the Sturgeon Bay Street Department. In previous years, Police Chief Arleigh Porter has relaxed enforcement of the ban during periods of little or no snow. However, police officers eventually will be given the go-ahead to write tickets. Chief Porter says, even though the snow isn’t a factor when it comes to parking these days, it might not be a bad idea to find an off street parking area if you are planning to park on the street in the city overnight for the next few months.
