Residents in the City of Sturgeon Bay are reminded that the weekly collection of garbage & recyclables has been altered due to the Memorial Day holiday. Consequently, garbage that would have been picked up Monday will be collected on Tuesday, Tuesday’s on Wednesday & so on. Co-mingled recycling(cans, glass & plastic) will be collected this week. The manner in which garbage & recycling is handled in Sturgeon Bay will soon change. Residents have been asked to designate the size of refuse containers they prefer, the 64 gallon or 96 gallon size. The garbage cans on wheels will eventually be ordered & distributed with the idea of beginning the new program in August. One major change is the ability to put all recyclables in one container. Some residents may also opt to forgo putting out the containers every week if they don’t generate a great deal of garbage & recycling.
