Sturgeon Bay City Hall Maritme Exhibit

On Friday, the Door County Maritime Museum, in conjunction with the City of Sturgeon Bay, will be launching an exhibit entitled “Shadows of our Maritime History” at city hall. The exhibit will feature three dimensional shadowboxes constructed by & on behalf of 19 businesses that have forged local maritime history as well as the city’s working waterfront. The exhibits will be unveiled Friday at an invitation only get together & will occupy the majority of the wall space on the first & second floors of city hall. Visitors will find the area maritime history reflected by exhibits on Bay Shipbuilding, The Christy Corporation & Sturgeon Bay Shipbuilding & Dry Dock, the exploits of Cap Roen & the Roen Steamship Company, all three US Coast Guard detachments & the instruments of ship design through exhibits of Bay Engineering & Tim Graul Marine Architects.
