A white 2013 Ford Mustang which was stolen from Sturgeon Bay’s west side earlier this week has now been recovered in Manitowoc County. Just after 12:00 noon Wednesday, a Manitowoc County Sheriff’s lieutenant located the vehicle in motion within the Township of Manitowoc. He attempted to stop the vehicle, but a chase ensued which reached speeds of approximately 100 m.p.h. And lasted about 3 minutes. The stolen vehicle’s driver lost control on a curve in the road and crashed into a ditch hitting some trees. The occupants then fled on foot. Just a short distance from the vehicle, a 20 year-old female passenger was taken into custody. A short time later, K-9 “leon” assisted the deputies in locating the 32 year-old female driver who was also taken into custody. During a search of the vehicle, the deputies found drug paraphernalia. This incident remains under investigation, and no additional information is available at this time.
