Information sessions for the upcoming Southern Door School District referendum have been scheduled for multiple locations in the days leading up to the November election. The school board is asking voters for permission to exceed the state imposed revenue cap by $390,000 on a one-time basis. The impact on a property taxpayer in the Southern Door District has been pegged at $37 on a $100,000 dollar home. The informational programs are expected to focus on the reasons for the recent trend of decreased state educational aid and the need to maintain the current level of educational programming at Southern Door.
