Southern Door School Board Mulls Referendum on Revenue Cap Override

No vote was taken Monday night, but the consensus of a majority of members of the Southern Door Board of Education was to move the process leading to a special referendum on a revenue cap override on to another special meeting Thursday night. Six board members indicated that a vote on referendum questions should be taken during the 6PM session in the high school library. If a school board decision is made to go ahead with the referendum, the questions would be placed on the ballot for the spring election on April 2nd. Board action will also set in motion the effort to develop more definitive numbers to be presented to the electorate prior to the vote. Representatives of PMA, the consulting firm helping the district with its budgetary needs, are expected to be on hand at Thursday’s special meeting.
