The Southern Door School District, with help from a citizens committee, is moving ahead with plans to replace bleachers near the football field & track. The board of education met last week to approve the final design plans created by JW Industries of Green Bay, the firm chosen by the board of education in August to oversee the bleacher replacement project. Just under $75,000 was approved by the school board as part of the budget for this school year. The remainder of the cost will be covered through fundraising provided by the district wide committee. The bleachers were taken down after it was determined they had deteriorated to the point where they were unsafe to use.
